Our Staff

Jane Jowett

Head of Outdoor Education & DofE Manager

Jane joined the school in 2011 and became the head of the department at the start of 2015. Within this time, she has made significant changes in the department. Most notably she has taken the Duke of Edinburgh's Award from CCF access only to making it available to the school as a whole. Since the Duke of Edinburgh's Award was opened to the whole school in September 2015, the number of participants has risen from 90 to over 500. Thanks to this increase Jane and the OED staff spend many weekends co-ordinating and supervising expedition weekends.

As well as running activities within the school programme, Jane has also opened after school clubs for Shooting and Climbing Wall both of which have proved to be vastly popular. Jane is also an international shooting coach as well as being the captain of the GB team for Jersey, Canada and South Africa tours.

Natalie Berry

OED Instructor and Assistant DofE Manager

Natalie joined the OED at the beginning of 2015, working within OED and the school Combined Cadet Force. Which with the expansion of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award within school did prove to be an interesting learning curve.

Natalie is a qualified instructor and specializes in advanced navigational skills, shooting and is a qualified First Aid Trainer.  Not only administrating the DofE Award within school, Natalie assists with the running of all the DofE expeditions and is also a qualified DofE Supervisor and Assessor.
